Certifies that installed cabling can support the speed capabilities of active equipment up to 1 Gb/s, testing for bit error rate (BERT), signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and skew to confirm real-world performance.
Comprehensive Cable Testing
Tests to TIA568A/B standards with graphical wire-mapping that clearly highlights termination faults, plus per-pair length measurement in feet or metres and detection of opens and shorts along the cable run.
PoE Detection & Load Testing
Detects Power over Ethernet per IEEE 802.3af/at, performs a load test to measure voltage drop, and identifies which pairs carry PoE and the power class — essential for verifying PoE switch and endpoint compatibility.
Advanced Network Discovery
Performs port discovery, network mapping, VLAN discovery, traceroute, and CDP/LLDP protocol detection to give you a clear picture of network layout and the interfaces between active components such as servers, switches, and routers.
Ping & Connectivity Verification
Ping up to 8 IP or URL targets simultaneously, verify DHCP connectivity and DNS resolution, and use the link light feature to identify the corresponding port on a hub, switch, or router.
Test Reporting & Tone Generation
All test results are saved on the unit and can be easily uploaded to a computer for reporting. Built-in tone generation assists with cable identification and tracing at the patch panel or wall outlet.
